Suwu on the Main

A few weeks ago I received an email inviting me to try SuWu's new brunch menu.  Normally I ignore those emails as I like trying and reviewing places anonymously, but for some reason I responded and set a date to try out their menu.  This past Saturday a dear friend and I headed over to the main to sample some of what SuWu has to offer. 

The decor at SuWu has a rustic laid back feel to it.  I felt at home right away and really enjoyed the warm environment.   My friend and I really liked all the old wood tables, rustic lighting and I cannot forget the bar.  

The bar is white and black with old school designs all over it - boom boxes from the 90's and lots more fun stuff.  It has a very 90's feel, especially when you take into account the awesome old school rap and other tunes that play on their sound system.

Grumman 78 - A Taco heaven?

Scrolling through my pictures this weekend, I noticed ones from my lunch at Grumman 78 and immediately realized that I had never written a review on them - shame on me!  Better late than never right?  So here it is, a year late ...

My visit to Grumman was so long ago, in fact it was at their Faubourg location that closed a while back.  Two friends and I headed over the Grumman for what we heard were the best tacos in town.  Arriving at their order counter, I quickly ordered two tacos (pork stick and the lamb curry taco), papas Grumman and a tomato and corn bread salad.  

The first Taco I had was their "Pork Stick" topped with a delicious potato and egg salad.  When ordering this taco I thought I would be transported into a different taste dimension, maybe I was expecting too much.  It was good, but nowhere near as good as everyone made it seem.   I found it to be a bit lacking in flavour, I barely tasted anything expect the salad topping.  I enjoyed it but wasn't as impres…
